Seventh Year in Prison

October 1st 2019 marks the beginning of my 7th year in prison. Though I can still imagine, I believe I have forgotten what freedom actually feels like.

Living in my own space, choosing who to be with, where to go, and living into a future of possibilities and growth; these have become foreign to me. I know I’ll never commit another crime and risk coming back here.

I’ve already lose some of my best years. What will keeping me here another year accomplish? What will it cost? And what opportunities are being missed? Regardless, here comes #7.
